Somatic & Body-Based Healing

The Somatic-Cognitive Bridge

The capstone, weaving the track's body-based work together with cognitive approaches into one whole-self practice. The two directions of regulation, why neither is complete alone, and the integrated check-name-regulate-reframe loop.

6 Lessons 2.5-3 Hours Research-Backed

Course Overview

Educational, and clinically gated

This course is psychoeducation, not treatment. The somatic and trauma material is designed to be used alongside care from a trauma-informed professional. Layer 3 (Complex Trauma & C-PTSD) is clinically gated and unlocks only after the earlier layers. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

The capstone, weaving the track's body-based work together with cognitive approaches into one whole-self practice. The two directions of regulation, why neither is complete alone, and the integrated check-name-regulate-reframe loop.

What You'll Learn

  • ✓Distinguish bottom-up (somatic) and top-down (cognitive) regulation and explain why neither is complete on its own
  • ✓Understand why cognitive tools are state-dependent and go offline in a flooded body, so the body door usually opens first
  • ✓Use affect labeling (name it to tame it) as the hinge between body and mind, with honest awareness of its partial evidence
  • ✓Apply cognitive reappraisal on a regulated-enough floor, using the regulate-then-reappraise sequence
  • ✓Run one integrated check-name-regulate-reframe-re-check loop, matching the mix of doors to your current state
  • ✓Build a personal whole-self map of which door to open at each level of activation

Evidence & Clinical Approach

Built on the Integrated Somatic-Cognitive Regulation framework and taught at a deliberately high evidence bar: it separates well-supported practice from popular-but-contested theory, and is psychoeducation designed to support, not replace, professional care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this course a replacement for therapy?

No. It provides psychoeducation and skill-building based on evidence-based frameworks, but it is not a substitute for individualized professional treatment. It works best alongside care, as structured learning between sessions.

What if I'm currently in crisis?

If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, contact emergency services (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 911) or go to your nearest emergency room. The platform includes safety monitoring that alerts assigned providers when distress is detected.

How is this different from self-help content?

Structured, sequential lessons with interactive exercises, progress tracking, and provider oversight. Your assigned provider can see your progress and tailor sessions to what you are learning.
