FOR UNIVERSITIES & COUNSELING CENTERS

Support the students your counseling center can't schedule

Campus counseling centers are structurally capped: appointment slots don't scale with enrollment growth, and students who can't get seen don't simply wait - they drop out, defer, or do worse. The Digital Wellness Academy platform is what a counseling center looks like when it scales beyond appointment capacity - clinical care extension for the high-need caseload, peak-performance resilience content for the entire student body, and 24/7 distress monitoring so nothing falls through at 2 a.m.

Why counseling centers can't solve this alone

Three structural mismatches define the student mental-health gap - and each one has a platform answer.

Constraint 1

Appointments don't scale linearly

Adding one staff clinician adds about 20 weekly clinical hours. Adding one platform seat adds 168 weekly hours of self-directed access.

Constraint 2

Peak demand is concentrated

Midterm, finals, breakup, family deaths - distress spikes happen on a predictable academic calendar. Counseling centers can't flex staff; platforms can flex content promotion and crisis triage.

Constraint 3

Stigma gates the front door

Many students who'd benefit from counseling don't book because of stigma or scheduling friction. An optimization-labeled resilience track gets them through the same evidence-based content without a clinical intake.

A two-layer deployment

Clinical care extension for the students your counselors see. Peak-performance resilience content for everyone else.

Layer 1 · Counseling center extension

Clinical care between appointments

  • • Therapeutic courses assigned by your counselors (anxiety, mood, trauma, sleep, nutrition)
  • • Standardized assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5) administered on schedule
  • • Real-time MAIA distress classifier on every text input
  • • Counselor dashboard with trend lines and crisis alerts
  • • 988 escalation path + campus-specific crisis line configurable
  • • Session-prep reports for each student's next appointment
Layer 2 · Whole-campus resilience

Optimization content for the 80% who never book

  • • 19 Five-Pillar courses across physical vitality, social connection, mental clarity, emotional resilience, purpose
  • • Self-check assessments (burnout, self-esteem, perfectionism) without clinical gating
  • • Content themed to academic stress periods (midterms, internship season, finals)
  • • SSO via institutional email; single platform for everyone
  • • Peer-cohort analytics at the institutional level (no individual identification)
  • • Keyword-gate safety layer on public inputs - still escalates serious signals

How a campus rollout actually runs

We've designed around counseling center workflow and academic-year rhythm - not generic SaaS kickoff playbooks.

Week 1–2 · Institutional configuration

SSO wiring to your SIS/identity provider. Counseling center staff accounts provisioned. Campus crisis line + Title IX + Dean of Students escalation paths configured. Brand customization on the student-facing portal.

Week 3 · Clinical team training

Your counselors learn the dashboard, the alert workflow, how to assign courses, how to read trend charts. Trial caseload of 20 students to pressure-test before general launch.

Week 4 · Soft launch to current caseload

Active counseling patients onboarded first. Use the Therapeutic school as between-session assignment. 2 weeks of tuning based on real counselor feedback.

Weeks 5–8 · Whole-campus launch

Optimization School opened to the full student population via SSO. Res life, student affairs, faculty mental-health ambassadors get launch kit. Content tied to the academic calendar (midterm stress, seasonal depression, finals, summer melt).

Ongoing · Outcomes review

Quarterly cohort-level reporting: engagement, assessment trajectories, crisis-alert volumes, counseling center load comparison year-over-year. Signals route into the content improvement pipeline.

FERPA, HIPAA, and the campus privacy reality

Counseling records at universities live in a blended HIPAA/FERPA regime, and platforms that don't understand the overlap get campus counsel into panic mode fast. Ours does.

What the counseling center sees

  • • Only students who are active counseling patients appear in clinician dashboards
  • • Row-level access control at the database - not application-layer filter
  • • Structured outcomes only (scores, trends, completion) - no free-text
  • • Audit log on every read and write of student records

What institutional admins see

  • • De-identified cohort analytics at the residence hall, college, or class-year level
  • • Aggregate engagement - never individual student activity
  • • Volume of crisis alerts, not their content
  • • Content performance data for curriculum/outreach planning

How institutional pricing works

FTE-based annual licensing with unlimited student access. No per-seat metering, no surprise overages during peak usage.

Pilot with one college within your university

Pilots are configured at the college or school level (typically 1,500–5,000 students) so your counseling center can see real outcomes before a university-wide rollout.
